Backstage Review
Our only review was in Backstage:
- When scholars explain to us why “Ulysses” is a great novel and James Joyce a great writer, they tend to drone on about the book’s intellectual underpinnings and its author’s historical importance. However, “Gibraltar” makes the convincing case that “Ulysses” is one of the most tender love stories ever written... a simple, heartrending story that resonates with the profound mysteries of love and desire, regret and affirmation. It’s also extremely bawdy..."Gibraltar" is rewarding theater for those who enjoy standout acting, a searching exploration of the human heart, and magnificent English. -
Gibraltar's first full production is to be in Dublin starting 1-1-12, the day Ulysses (1922) comes into the public domain in Ireland. All going well the plan is the same. Mount it again (with local talent) around Bloomsday 2012 and have it can become part of Dublin's annual Bloomsday celebrations. END SPIEL.

- Patrick,
The students loved the show - I quote: "amazing," "blew me away," "wonderful!"

- Good craic again with the play. Thx for the invite. You have a great play on your hands and I think that many punters like me would like to be exposed to Ulysses without feeling stupid and I think you have done that. -
We have been invited to Philadelphia to do four shows in and around Bloomsday in collaboration with the Rosenbach Museum, where Joyce's original Ulysses manuscript is housed. Then, June 2012, they (Plays and Players Theatre) want me to direct a full production for their 100th season. The plan is to do it every year in and around Bloomsday.
